The blender box, sometimes referred to as the Magic Blender, is played by pressing a series of buttons that were scavenged from a blender. It sounds like a sci-fi blender, with different buttons giving the sound different “speeds” by increasing/decreasing the pitch.
Rob’s audio notes
For this I used a series of off-tuned triangle waves with a distinct “wobble” for that variable speed blender behavior. Then this chord is passed through a series of variable delays which created fantastic artifacts.
How we built it
The box follows our general box design with these modifications:
- We scavenged a set of buttons from a blender, and attached them to an Arduino which passed on the selected button to the Raspberry Pi.
