Messengers
Legends say that birds carry messages upon their wings. As they reach the heavens, the wishes within their feathers are heard, and sometimes granted. The trick is, you have to whisper your message before the bird flies away…this is where my project, "Messengers" intervenes. A flock of motionless birds will be perched where they can be reached, written and drawn on by viewers; effectively sharing their messages, hopes, wishes, dreams and desires with us all.
Artist Bio
Lauren Strohacker was born in Northern Ohio to parents who painted her walls with animals. She uses wildlife imagery in public space to encourage thought and dialogue that may begin to obscure the line between human and animal identity.
