About urbanSTEW
urbanSTEW is a non-profit organization exploring synergies between art, technology, and culture. The mission of urbanSTEW is to bring together technology and arts in ways that address issues of importance as contributing members of our respective communities. In addition to this, we seek to build broader partnerships for the creation of culturally sensible art and technology, as well as education on topics related to art, technology, and society.
Our approach is inspired by both arts practice and research methodologies, and in its implementation we break borders between traditional disciplines. Correspondingly, our products vary from artistic performances and installation art to software for computers and mobile phones. We are as passionate about helping people and engaging audiences through our activities, as we are dedicated to sharing the skills we posses and the knowledge we generate.
